June Currently

Summa-Summa-Summa time! I am lovin' it! I am linking up with Farley for June Currently! Hop on over and check it out!

I am watching my man, LeBron, rock it out in the final game of the series. Go Miami! I attended an unconference in Nashville today. It was a TeachMeet and I learned all about technology to integrate into instruction and to use as formative assessments. This experience will definitely get its own blog post sometime soon. I promise.

I feel like my house has gotten the short end of the stick as my school year was winding down. It is begging me to give it a good scrubbing! IPads are on my mind as I learned some more great ways to use them in my classroom. How nice would it be if we each had our own class set of IPads?! I started my summer break off getting to the gym 4-5 times a week and I must keep it up. Of course, I am not seeing results yet but I am feeling them. I am loving it!

I am always on the lookout for a great inspirational teacher book. Some of my favorites are by Torey Hayden. Real.Good.Stuff. I have pretty fair skin so as much as I hate it, I must lather up on some SPF 50 anytime I'll be outside. Really want to thank my dad for the extra fair skin! Ha! I feel like I am constantly on my phone on vacation to kind of unwind. That being said, I must charge it often. If I forget my phone charger when we are on vacation, we will have a serious issue. Don't jinx me!

If you haven't already, go on over and link up with Farley! Don't forget the 3 Rule! Happy Monday to you!

OH MY! It's May already?! How did this happen?! I have no idea, but I am so not complaining! I am linking up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade for this month's currently! Here we go:

I am only listening to Nashville but not truly paying attention! I do this all the time. In my head I am a great multi-tasker but seriously, I stink at it! I will need to watch is AGAIN on DVR.

I am LOVING the fact that summer time is right around the corner but at the same time, with summer approaching also means state testing is approaching. This too shall pass!

My least very least favorite chore is folding and ironing laundry. Seriously, it's the worst! I feel like I would rather wash dishes, clean toilets, and scrub baseboards before I would ever fold a pile of clothes. Ugh. IT IS THE WORST!

I am needing to get some grading done tonight. I really try to get assessments back pretty quick to my kids so it still holds it's value, but it is tough. I have 53 kiddos and give personal praise and comments to each of them. It's good stuff, just really time consuming.

My summer bucket list may sound like lots of chicas' bucket lists. Let me explain:
1. The man and I head to the lake quite often through the summer and this one will be no different. It is a mini vacation on the weekends and we really enjoy catching up with each other and our friends. We love getting out on the boat and enjoying the weather.

2. I feel so much better when I work out consistently. I need to get back on track. This has been such an exhausting time of year, but I really need to get back on schedule so I can get some energy! Oh yeah, and that beach bod. DUH!

3. It's been a while since my whole family has gone to the beach together. This year, we are going to rock it out! My parents claim they want to see all of us, but we all know it's just so they can spend an entire week with their grandbabies. Seriously, mom and dad, we are all on to you! Either way, I am pretty excited to go back to the beach we grew up going to on vacation.

Alright, my friends! Now it is your turn to link up! Hop on over to Farley's site, and let us know what you are up to CURRENTLY.

April Currently and a New Product!

Hey ya'll! After being a total blog stalker hopper the past few years I am so excited to start being an active member of this blogging world! I thought I would link up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade and let you know what's currently going on in April!

I am pretty much a Pandora FREAK! I find myself turning it on and rockin' out all the time. When I stay after school, I turn on my loud speaker and bust out some singing. Thank goodness my students don't see it :)

I really love/think/want/need spring brink to be two weeks. What do you think?

My advice comes to you from my university days. The president of the university told us to choose to be extraordinary. I, like most college students, kind of blew off that advice. It has taken me 5 years to realize that maybe that president was on to something. I try to use any opportunity I can to reinforce the idea of "being extraordinary is a choice"  to my 10 and 11 year olds in my classroom.

Now for the BIG, HUGE, EXCITING news!!

I finished my Common Core Aligned Poetry Unit for 4th and 5th grades! It is called "Paintin' a Picture with Poetry" and it is going to rock your world! It comes in both color and printer friendly versions and has some fabulous resources for comparing similar topics, comparing multimedia/visual representation, summarizing, comparing themes, etc. Don't wait ANY longer! Check it out at my Teacher's Pay Teachers Store

I want to give a MAJOR shout out to  2nd Grade Stuff for all of her knowledge and patience with me and I officially uploaded my first unit! Thanks, girl! You are such a great teacher, even to grown adults! :)

Thanks, ya'll for stopping by! Now I need to blog HOP a little more :)
