Thank you for visiting One Bright Classroom! My name is Lauren Bright and I am an elementary teacher in South Central Kentucky. I have always been interested in bettering myself as a teacher and what better way than collaborating in the blogging world?! I have learned so much from other bloggers but it also allows me to share a few tips and tricks along the way as well. Teachers have an everlasting impact on students, but they also have the ability to impact each other too. I am so appreciative of that opportunity.
The 2018-2019 school year marks my seventh year of teaching. I will be teaching Kindergarten this year! I have previously taught three years in 2nd grade, one year in first, and one year as a 1st/2nd split and before entering the Primary World, I spent my first year teaching 5th grade reading and social studies. I have experience teaching all subject areas but my most favorite to teach is math! Math and problem solving skills are essential in today's world. Creating lifelong mathematicians is always my goal, but seeing their growth in just a year is pretty inspirational too!
You may notice my classroom will not look or run like other classrooms. We embrace Whole Brain Teaching strategies as well as a Guided Math block. I plan to blog more frequently about tips and tricks for both of these strategies.
